You know what would be amazing? A piece of research that looks into the life of a Javanese slave shipped to Suriname by his Dutch overlords. You cover the history of three continents with that one paper, imagine that!

    I’ll sell the idea to some starchy academic and live off the royalty. But I doubt the market for monographs on southeast Asian slaves in south America is very big, if at all existent. There goes Plan B!
